CYSA is a member of the Middlesex Youth Soccer League (MYSL).
Time: Each team will have one or two practices a week in preparation for Saturday games. The practice and game schedules are published close to the start of each season, with the Fall typically running from late August to mid November, and the Spring from late March to late June. Games are typically held on Columbus Day weekend, and over BPS April break weekends, but not on Memorial Day weekend. The 9th+ grade teams only play in the Spring seasons.
Location: Teams practice at the Charlestown High School fields or Barry field at Medford and Chelsea Streets. Games are either Home (Charlestown High School Turf Fields or Barry grass field) or Away in the greater Boston area.
Fees: The registration fee as of Fall 2023 is $150 which includes new uniforms There is a $25.00 per player fee for late registrations, since teams must be formed well before the start of the season and submitted to MYSL. Sibling discounts are applied if multiple players in the same family are registered for the same season.
Consider a Donation: Charlestown Soccer is a volunteer organization. All fees are used to support the program. Your donations allow us to pay for registrations, uniforms, cleats, equipment and tournament entry fees for families that cannot afford these costs. Please consider selecting a donation in the drop down box as you register your player.
Team Assignments: See the page Evaluations for Fall regarding how team assignments are done within an age group, and be aware of the placement evaluations that we conducted in May/June each year to help inform team assignments for the subsequent Fall and Spring seasons.
While we do our best to place all players who register on a team, we cannot guarantee a spot in the event that registration numbers conflict with MYSL's minimum and maximum roster sizes. In that case some players will be placed on a waiting list. Therefore, register early to secure a spot!
