Summary of the Player’s Code of Conduct for MYSA:
- Sportsmanship and Respect:
- Players are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship, fair play, and respect towards teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.
- Behavior Standards:
- Players must refrain from using offensive language, engaging in bullying or harassment, and threatening others both on and off the field.
- They are prohibited from using social media or technology to harass or threaten others.
- Attitude and Compliance:
- Players should maintain a positive attitude and show respect towards everyone involved in soccer activities, including coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials.
- Post-Match Protocol:
- After matches, players must acknowledge the opposing team with a handshake, fist bump, or cheer.
- Zero Tolerance Policies:
- Players must adhere to all Zero Tolerance Policies set by the town, club, and league.
- Substance Abuse:
- Players are prohibited from using illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana during sanctioned programs, activities, and events.
- Consequences for Violations:
- Initial Violation: A verbal warning from the coach to the player and parent/guardian.
- 2nd Violation: Player misses next practice and/or match.
- 3rd Violation: Player is suspended from all practices and matches for the remainder of the season.
