Charlestown Soccer Field Evaluations for our Travel Program, 2023-2024 Season
Field evaluations for Charlestown Youth Soccer’s 2023-2024 travel soccer season for rising 3rd through 8th graders will take place over the course of three Tuesdays starting May 30 - June 13. Participants will check in and the sessions will last 1 hour and 15 minutes. Field evaluations of all our interested players will be conducted by volunteers, members of the board and coaching staff, and are used to help create teams that fit into appropriate divisions within the travel Middlesex Youth Soccer League. In addition to these field evaluations, your son’s or daughter’s current coaches from this spring will provide coaching evaluations on their current teams, which also helps inform team placements for the Fall/Spring 2023-2024.
All evaluations will take place at the Charlestown High School Softball field. There is limited parking at both locations (because of field construction).
IMPORTANT: All players MUST register to participate in evaluations. Please register at least 24 hours prior to your placement session, because the placement system needs to be primed with the registration data. (If you have registered for the fall you are all set).
Players are assigned to age groups based on their grade level going into the Fall of 2023, with date of birth limits. When registering, please confirm the accuracy of your player’s grade and date of birth and email lto:info@charlestownsoccer.com if either is incorrect.
We NEED Coaches and Assistant Coaches for the Fall/Spring Season
As our program grows, having enough coaches and assistant coaches is critical to the success of Charlestown Youth Soccer. Our main goal is to secure one head coach and two assistant coaches for every travel team. If you are interested or have coached in past seasons (including this spring season) and are interested in coaching for the Fall/Spring season, please register here.
As a reminder, this is not a tryout. We welcome players of all skills into our program. This is simply to help us determine which team to place a player on, since travel teams compete in skill-based divisional play against other towns. Field evaluations will take place rain or shine (unless there is an extreme weather event).
As discussed, the outcome of the field evaluation session is not the only component used in evaluating players. Coaches are evaluating their current players from this Spring season, so if you are unable to make the placement date, these evaluations will be used to determine your player’s placement. However, the more information the team placement committee has, the better your chances of accurate placement.
If a player is unable to attend evaluations, they will be placed on a team based upon whatever evaluation information is available. We are not able to offer a make-up evaluation session.
Please carefully review the times below and the age groups to make sure you register your player for their rising 2023/2024 school grade and attend the corresponding session.
