Coach Onboarding & Compliance Checklist

All coaches must complete the following annual steps to be eligible to coach the Fall/Spring seasons. These requirements ensure player safety and compliance with Mass Youth Soccer and US Soccer mandates.

• • Total Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours for new participants; 1 hour for returning participants.
• • Action Deadline: This process must be completed before the start of the season. (If completed in the Fall, it covers the Spring)

⚠️ Important Compliance Rules

To avoid mistakes that delay your clearance, please follow these guidelines:

• 1. Identity Consistency: Use your full legal name and the exact same email address when setting up all soccer-related accounts (Mass Youth Soccer, US Soccer). This is essential for auto-uploading and verification.
• 2. Background Checks: Mass Youth Soccer adult participants should NOT submit background checks through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center. This is handled internally.
• 3. Training: ONLY the training listed in Phase 1 (Steps 2A & 2B below) is required for annual certification.

Phase 1: Annual Registration & Required Training

STEP 1: Complete Mass Youth Soccer Annual Registration

• • This registration registers you with the state association and initiates your record for the season.
• • Action: Click here to complete your Mass Youth Soccer annual registration.
  • • Tip: Be sure to select Charlestown Youth Soccer when prompted.

STEP 2: Complete Required Online Training (U.S. Soccer Learning Center)

• • This is mandatory annual safety training.
• • Action: Log into the U.S. Soccer Learning CenterU.S. Soccer Learning Center and complete the following:
  • • A. SafeSport Abuse Prevention: Required every year.
  • • B. Introduction to Safe & Healthy Playing Environments: Required every two years.

STEP 3: Complete Annual Policy Review (Just a click thru)

1. Athlete and Participant Safety Policy
2. Abuse Prevention Policy (Safe Sport Act)
3. Codes of Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policy
4. Weather Policy
5. Concussion Policy
6. Goal SafetyPolicy 

STEP 4: CORI Verification Process (CYSA completes this)

•CYSA will complete the one-time CORI Verification Process once you have completed your Annual Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration (Step 1).

🔎 How to Verify Completion

To check your status, log into the U.S. Soccer Learning Center:

• 1. Click the profile icon in the upper right corner.
• 2. Click PROFILE (NOT DASHBOARD).
• 3. Click SHOW MORE DETAILS.
• 4. Your account should indicate "Phase 1 Complete."
• 5. If you think you are complete but need final confirmation, send a screenshot of this "Phase 1 Complete" screen (with your name visible) to: cysa@charlestownsoccer.com
